This program is designed for those who plan to build their futures in the tourism industry, with diverse range of career opportunities. Courses cover a full-range of business practices in marketing, human resources, finance and industry operations – as applied to the entire hospitality and tourism field.

Student will gain valuable work experience through an individualized industry internship that is designed to provide a practical foundation for his career. After graduation, many students continue on as full-time employees at their internship placements.

Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning

Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning

 

It is a two year graduate diploma program in heating, ventilation and air conditioning which takes   care of refrigeration. This program will prepare students towards their Gas Technician 2 and Oil Burner Technician 2 certifications. After successful completion of this program, graduates may apply to the Technical Standards and Safety Authority Certification and be qualified to work in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field. Air conditioning and refrigeration principles will also be covered relating to the layout, installation, and service or residential and light commercial heating and cooling applications.

Employment opportunities

 

Graduates may find employment as heating technicians in natural gas, propane, and oil burner fields or with affiliated trade apprenticeship with the refrigeration or plumbing and heating industry. Professional Technology Option

It is a nine-semester program including three semesters co-op.

This program has been designed to prepare student for a challenging career in the electronics field.

This three-year program prepares graduates for a variety of full-time jobs in the electronics industry, including electronic product design and development, manufacturing, service and technical sales. Student will obtain an in-depth education in telecommunications, wireless networks, fibre optics, digital signal processing, microcontrollers, computer, quality assurance and industrial controls. Hewill be able to assist in design, and troubleshoot, analyze, repair, test, measure and document a variety of electronic systems and subsystems.

This program provides an optimum balance between theory and hands-on experience. Students can opt to graduate as a technician after the first two years, or continue onto the co-op or non co-op options. Academically-qualified students can enhance their education by working three terms as paid employees in the field. This experience not only allows you to put classroom learning into practice, but also provides valuable contacts for future careers.

Electro-Mechanical Engineering–Automation and Robotics with co-op

Electro-Mechanical Engineering–Automation and Robotics with co-op

It is a three-year diploma in electro-mechanical engineering technology with specialization in automation and robotics. It also has a coop of one year. In other words, student will be in this program for four years.

Student will study the full-range of automation theory and mechanics, from basic circuitry through to its application in a manufacturing system. He will also learn about hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, electronics, robotics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Special attention is given to industrial robots, which are increasingly used in manufacturing. The program allows student to explore the field of precision controls and the total electronic integration of modern, complex automated systems.

The demand for computer programmers skilled in Web based programming and database administrators is growing at a rapid rate. This demand is created by the critical need for access to immediate information in businesses, health care and manufacturing industries. The Computer Programmer Analyst program prepares you to enter this exciting new field of computer and Web programming. In this program, students will learn about operating systems, networking, security, Web technology, and technical communications. Students will take courses in programming, database design, networks, Web site design and management, and entrepreneurship. Two optional semesters of co-operative work terms in industry provide students with the opportunity to refine their skills, to expand their awareness of potential career paths, and to make valuable employer contacts.

Computer Engineering - Embedded Networks

Computer Engineering - Embedded Networks

It is a three-year program which will prepare  student for a challenging career with the latest in computer embedded and networks technology. The program will evolve during his enrolment to reflect the ever-growing innovations of the Internet embedded revolution. Internet embedded computer interfaces and protocols are typically found in automobiles, airplanes, appliances, home automation, security systems, traffic light controls and other applications with sensors and actuators.

This three-year program will prepare the student for a variety of full-time jobs in the computer industry, including product design and development, manufacturing, service and technical sales. Student will obtain an in-depth education in microcontroller programming and interface (with different chips like Motorola, PIC, and Atmel), real time operating system, system-on-chip using Xillinx, digital signal processing, wireless networks, data communications, database, quality assurance and industrial controls. He will be able to assist in design, and troubleshoot, analyze, repair, test, measure and document a variety of computer based control systems and subsystems.

An optimum balance between theory and hands-on labs, with technical problem-solving incorporated into each component, is also provided. Student will be able to graduate as a technician after the first two years, or continue in this three-year technology program.span

English @ 12th Standard and one of the following:

Math 11M or U, or 12C or U or skills assessment or equivalent

Computer Engineering Technician

 It is a three/two year diploma program in computer engineering technology. Innovation is the rule in computer Engineering Technology, and it the hallmark of the computer engineering diploma program .This program  provides hands-on experience and a problem-solving approach to computer engineering technology, teaching students to find creative, outside-the-box solutions to real-world computer engineering problems.

Students develop high-level programming and computer engineering skills that translate directly to the workplace and are in high demand among employers. During third year, student can apply for one of three paid co-op work terms, gaining professional experience to augment his studies.

The program places more emphasis on fundamental math and engineering principles than most computer engineering colleges. Second- and third-year courses focus on advanced computer engineering concepts, ranging from software development to embedded systems design. Student will learn to:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the architecture for computer systems and networks
  • Create process control, data acquisition, and data management solutions
  • Integrate networking technologies with information systems
  • Work with microcontrollers, wireless systems, and other consumer-product technologies
  • Design and manage information servers

 The three paid co-op work terms occur in the second and third year for which a separate application process is required.
