As
a new university or college graduate, Project Management Ontario College
Graduate Certificate program gives students the foundation they need to
successfully manage projects for employers in their discipline. That’s true
whether the area of interest is the arts, community or social services,
business or information technology. If the applicant is a seasoned
professional, this program provides the opportunity to learn new skills and earn
credentials necessary to advance one’s career faster.
The skills one learns in this Project Management program prepare him to
initiate, plan, execute and control a project to ensure its success. In addition
to graduate certificate, when one completes the program he will be qualified to
write exam to become either a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®)
or Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management
Institute(PMI®).
The program gives you a comprehensive foundation in project management and
organizational management that applies to organizations of all types and sizes.
One will learn how to:
- Identify clear project objectives
- Build detailed project requirements
- Develop and monitor performance measures
- Manage communication
- Arrange and control finances
- Work well with diverse people and partners
- Manage project constraints including scope, quality, cost and time
Cooperative Education
One can work for one paid work term at the end of the program’s eight-month academic portion and gain valuable real-world experience that is highly regarded by employers. This experience allows the student to explore different career paths and apply classroom learning to actual business situations.
Eligibility Criteria
· Postsecondary diploma or degree
and/or
· Demonstrated competence through related work and/or educational experience
· IELTS score = 6.00 bands
Selection Criteria
Selection on the basis of previous academic achievement, and/or demonstrated
experience.
In some cases, applicants may be requested to submit a résumé, which includes
details of related work experience, and a cover letter, which summarizes their
career goals and reasons for wanting to take this program.

On completion of the programs, students may be able to get following job opportunities:
- Arts: Film or theatre production management, arts administration, self-employed artist
- Community services: Fundraiser, program coordinator, volunteer management
- Business: Supply chain coordinator or entrepreneur starting your own business, event planner
- Information technology: Hardware upgrade or software development project leader
